I have bean working at Jimma University office of Information Communication Technology Development, starting from August 21, 2012 up to present in varies ICT professional and manegerial roles, (further information available at http://profile.et ). In addition to my work experience; I would like to add that I am flexible, team player, self-starter, eager to learn and apply new technologies, fast learner, and have ability to apply problem solving strategy to evaluate and slove problem. I have good planning and organizational skills especially based on my experience working at Jimma University and MoSHE(MoE) in a leading role.
Experiences
Here I am responsible for the development and implementation of digital learning solutions while managing a team of e-learning professionals. Key responsibilities include leading and mentoring the team, developing e-learning strategies, managing projects, ensuring quality, and providing training and support.
The role requires a degree in a relevant field, experience in e-learning and technology, leadership skills, and proficiency with e-learning tools and platforms. Essential qualities include innovative thinking, adaptability, and strong analytical and communication skills.
I was holding a high-ranking position, often as the Educational Sector of ICT or a similar role, with broad and strategic responsibilities. I was promoted a secondment promotion as per the request of the ministry from Jimma University. In my stay I was responsible for:-
- Developing and implementing the sector ICT policies and strategies.
- Creating and overseeing policies on ICT infrastructure, cybersecurity, and digital inclusion.
- Regulating public and privete University ICT sector and ensuring compliance with standards.
- Overseeing and allocating the sector ICT budget
- Collaborating with government, private sector, and international bodies.
- Promoting technological advancement and digital skills.
- Coordinating and Handling national ICT-related crises.
My key qualifications for this position include an advanced level of extensive ICT management and professional experience, strong leadership skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
In this position I was directly appointed by the university president to enhance the over all ICT services with the improvement's of professional, stockholders and customer satisfaction
My responsibilities was:-

I was responsible that ensures the reliability, security, and efficiency of IT systems and services, on leading both system and network admin team to support and optimize technology operations.
In additon to that I have an obligations:-
- To oversee the design, deployment, and maintenance of IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and storage systems.
- To ensure the infrastructure supports organizational needs and integrates with other systems.
- To plan, execute, and manage ICT infrastructure projects, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with business goals.
- To evaluate and recommend new technologies and solutions to enhance IT infrastructure and services.
In this role, As a Database Administrator I was responsible to ensure the effective operation of database systems while actively collaborating with both the development and infrastructure teams to integrate databases seamlessly into the overall IT environment and support application needs.
This promotion significantly broadened my expertise across various ICT domains, serving as a pivotal point in my professional development. As a Business Application Development and Administration Manager, I not only advanced my skills in application development technologies but also gained in-depth knowledge of infrastructure technologies. This role required me to lead and manage the development, implementation, and administration of business applications while ensuring seamless integration with existing IT infrastructure.
In addition to the development tasks, I was responsible to
- System Maintenance: Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, software, and hardware. Ensure the stability and reliability of servers and workstations
- Network Management: Manage and monitor network infrastructure, including routers, switches, and firewalls. Ensure network connectivity and security

As a Programmer, I was developed, tested, and maintained software applications, with ensuring they meet functional requirements and perform reliably. Spatially my role includes analyzing and debugging code, contributing to software design and architecture, and creating comprehensive technical documentation.
In this period I was enhanced my proficiency in programming languages such as PHP, Java, C#; familiarity with development tools and version control, and strong problem-solving abilities, adaptability to new technologies and effective communication and teamwork skills are my most success stories.
